And … I’m just back from Spain. Unremitting daily temperatures of ‘feels like 42’ have made child-minding duties a bit on the testing side, and waterside fun has been our friend. The never-ending sun routine seems – finally – to be taking a break, both here in the UK and in Spain. This photo taken the other day, pool-side, is perhaps a foretaste of the next week or so?

That’s a dramatic sky. We had a message from our friends near Huesca saying they could no longer smell smoke which was a relief. We’ve finally had rain here after little or nothing since early June.

Thank goodness our part of Spain has – so far – been fire-free. But nevertheless tinder-dry. Both Spain and the UK now seem to have real expectations of rain. Thank goodness.

Oh my! I’d like to say I’m looking forward to rain but I suspect 7 days of it will be equally testing. Here it’s around 25C which is well nigh perfect. Perhaps a shower come tomorrow evening. Perhaps not! xx

Welcome back! We are in the same temperature furnace. We are in day 22 of August. Except for a single day of 36ºC, every day has been 37ºC-40ºC. I hope you got some rain.

Yes, seems storms have come to the east but nothing here except some welcome white clouds and promise of rain. We will see. Perfecto at the moment as temperatures down and the vast Niebla fire finally controlled and think now extinguished. Yes, days by pool help in such heat. Enjoy the UK but who knows for sure now where is cooler!

Exactly. What I did notice though from exhaustive weather forecast comparisons, is that in the UK, the ‘feels like’ temperature is only a degree or two higher than the actual temp.. In Catalonia it was routinely 10 – 12 degrees higher.

I have. It took some doing. I have never been so consistently hot, for so long, ever in my life. 24 hours later, I am beginning to complain about the cold here, Never happy, me. ….

those are some clouds! glad they passed you by. It has been hot and moist here, too. Though the temperatures seem to have dropped for the week ahead, including the dew point which makes it even more comfortable. Stay well and enjoy the last few days of August.

No! Everyone WANTED those clouds to disgorge quantities of the wet stuff. There’s been no rain since heaven-knows-when, and it might have brought much needed coolth with it. No such luck. You may be back at school now? Good luck with the new term!
