I'm retired and living in North Yorkshire, where I walk as often as I can, write, volunteer, and travel as often as I can.

What a view! This would have worked for Dizzy too 🙂
ah I remember now you posting some photos just after you got back – here’s hoping you will be able to return next year and spend longer exploring the area.
Such fabulous scenery. I love hairpin roads. One below me at the hotel where I worked in Norway (Stalheimskleiva) had 13 bends and is one of the steepest! I never drove on it, but I did walk up once. Once was enough!
Yes, that’s why I asked. I can’t take proper panorama photos with my camera (well I could, if I wasn’t too lazy to carry an extra lens, when I go hiking)
Oh, Margaret, this is a spectacular view, so beautiful! How nice it is to be able to experience such wonderful moments.
Because our life consists of moments – travel moments, moments of happiness and often moments of longing.
How did the German poet Arthur Schnitzler say it?
“In the end, what counts is only what we have done and lived – and not what we have longed for …”
Margaret, I wish you a nice day!

Love those that stay in the memories. Were you hiking?

Unfortunately not. We were on our way back to Santander. But I’d love to explore this region on foot.

It’s really wonderful. And such emptiness too.

Most definitely empty…I wouldn’t want to be living there!

Actually, it’s not that far from civilisation. I think I could cope.

Wow, what a wonderful landscape. It looks so dramatic with the grey skies in the background. Did you take that one with your phone?

I did. I find my rather humble phone is better than my less humble camera for panoramas.
