I'm retired and living in North Yorkshire, where I walk as often as I can, write, volunteer, and travel as often as I can.

How lovely. They’ve made me cheerful too – great photos. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year. Lovely photos, it runs in my mind that last year the snow drops and aconites chez vous beat our garden by several weeks. Perhaps because we have no snow for them to drop through. Can’t resist mentioning that we enjoyed a successful family outing to the panto last week. We hope 2018 is a better year for you and yours xx
Oh, we only had that one lot of snow. And it’s true that snowdrops are beginning, and the tips of the daffodils too. I’m glad you saw the panto so we didn’t have to! 2018 looks set to be better than 2017, I’m sure …. apart from in the political arena…. I hope it will be good for your family too xx
I love it…. right now our ground is covered in snow – here and at home. Signs of spring are at least six weeks or more away. I’ll take your photos of proof that green and color will return. In the meantime, I am off for a mid-winter walk with Ivy the wonderdog! Peace and Happy New Year!
I have to admit, the photos make me something less than cheerful. We won’t be seeing this sort of renewed life for months! My outdoor thermometer is at minus-28 F this morning . . . Still, I am glad for you . . . 😉
…. said she through gritted teeth. All I can say as consolation is that I DO think real winters are something to celebrate, and that spring, when it comes, will be REALLY something to celebrate.
No sign of either of these in our garden just yet but thank-you so much for this post and the photos! Seeing them gives me a feeling of hope and happiness!
Lovely for you to see signs of spring. Makes me realise that our autumn is not far off, but in the meantime we are experiencing extremes of heat and stormy weather, including a lightning strike on our house knocking out our phone and parts of our alarm system. Not complaining though because we have had rain! Lots of it in fact and the dams in our region are filling up at last. Still tragic in other parts of the country though. Best wishes for the year ahead.

Job done then! Yours will come on soon, and be around I suppose later than ours, so it all comes out in the end.
