Water seems to revel in the chance to become a canvas, painted by the world above it: the clouds, the sky, the trees, buildings and daily life which surround it. Here’s some bird life whose watery home reflects the world beyond.

And here are ripples to baffle the eye:

and I’m not sure that this sandy scene counts as a watery shot. But it couldn’t have been achieved without the sea so recently washing over it…

Let’s finish in holiday mood, with the reflections of pleasure-seeking boats at the port in Alicante.

Oh, my word! I thought I was early at 6.15. I’m sure it was worth it but you might feel sleepy later. We have one last salt marshes walk this morning, lunch and then a visit to Santa Rita to see the Maja- a bunch of scarecrows. Packing and off to the UK tomorrow. I’ll be back before I’ve even missed myself xx

Ahem. This was my third dawn walk of the week. The first was wasted – the clouds fell as soon as I left the house. But yesterday and today were glorious. But enough now of 4.00 a.m exits from the house! xx

I have commented on the heron before but the mallards and the orange ripples are wonderfully colourful images. Nice Work.

I love reflections in water. These are all stunning. Love the greens and blues of the first image best but also love that slash of orange. I could see these as paintings.
