Since clock change, I’ve been unable to wake up later than 5 o’clock. So inspired by Becky’s walk at sunrise, and by the clear sky last night, I was out by 6.00 to catch the sun’s first rays. But it was cloudy – thick cross-patch grey. And my phone doesn’t do low light levels. But here’s my early morning photo-diary. With not a sunrise in sight.

These images may be grey and black enough for Jude’s Life in Colour. And can multi-task for Jo’s Monday Walk too. AND Six Word Saturday as well
Brave of you to go walking in the dark. I’d be afraid of tripping up because I can’t see where I’m putting my feet.

You get used to the dark quite quickly, and I know the path well.

Yay for the multi-task, three prompts and a successful walk into the sunrise for our entertainment 🙂 🙂

My camera was playing up and I couldn’t fix it in the pitch black.

Lovely, thank you for braving the cold to take these pictures.

It wasn’t cold! Ridiculously warm for the time of day. 10°.

I’m impressed too by the pre-dawn multi-tasking. And by the resulting images, regardless of camera problems. Filled with atmosphere.

Thanks. I quite like the image which includes the church. Quite impressionistic.

Fabulous you were inspired to venture out, but oh my grey indeed! I didn’t go out this morning, did pilates instead.

Good choice. Still, I did my Daily Walk on a busy day. Nearly up to 1400 miles now, and 1500 is this year’s target.

I wouldn’t wander around here in the dark, never know what you might step into! But I admire your fortitude. And these photos fit black and grey perfectly. Plus a glimmer of blue in that last shot. Grey again here.

They’re quite good paths and I soon got my eye in. But greyness abounds today …

We’re having such weird weather at the moment – so mild and so much cloud. You did well to capture any photos at all! I do love the sky in the last one 🙂

Oh, bless! It’s 6.00 for me and I’m never tempted to go out in the dark! I will go and watch sunrise sometimes in the new little room on the roof though. If I don’t get sidetracked before then 🤣💕 Many thanks for sharing!

Rather to my surprise, I loved it – I’ll do it again when a sunrise is guaranteed,

We’ve not had a sunrise in a week or more. At least not like Becky’s. Cool morning walk photos. 😀

Ugh! 5am – that is way too early to be awake. I do love the photos, though. Grey’ish photos are often very atmospheric.

I’m still on the 5.00 a.m. shift. Hate it! I can’t do an early walk every day!

I just hate it when I’m up and out at the crack of dawn and there isn’t one!!! I actually loved your opening image with the sliver of light – very modernistic!

And dark to get about in too! Thanks.

A plus in consideration of a 5 am stroll is the satisfaction of how amazing your eyesight is in lowlight compared to 21st-century phone cameras. Hope you get your personal clock round to a more civilised 6 am soon.

I’m not holding my breath about the early hour. But I always prefer to be torch less – our eyes can do the work if they’re given the chance!

It wonderful you could take a walk after dark. Beautiful images, Margaret. Love the sky image especially.
It getting dark earlier here too, though afternoon is still pretty warm.

Yup, warmish here too. Though less so in the morning. I hate these dark evenings – do you?
