Fallow deer at Fountains

Watching us watching them, on a quiet walk through the deer park at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal

Have you spotted the two albinos?

      1. But with a modern camera, WYSIWYG….either by looking through the viewfinder and hence the lens’ view, or by looking at the rear screen….

      2. A Lumix Panasonic DMC – TZ80. But you won’t persuade me to go twiddling knobs. I left the only photography course I ever went on because I realised that knob-twiddling wasn’t for me. The automatic setting has a better brain than me!

  1. Great to see them all looking so relaxed, Margaret. I’ve never seen albino deer before. I particularly like the shot where the very proud albino is staring at is over that fallen tree.

  2. Ah, beautiful! There is something ethereal about deer; they represent peace and gentleness for me. Despite the rutting seasons! And yes, I spotted the albinos though I might have missed them had you not suggested we look properly. Any day is better for the sighting of a deer 😊

  3. They are pretty and I love the dappled colouration. I hope that breeding specifically for white deer does not become a fashion as it has for some unfortunate animal species here …

  4. Incidentally I see from other comments that like me you’re a Panasonic Lumix user. Is yours a point and shoot model or one of their bridge cameras? I have one of each and I’m a huge fan of the bridge camera – it does everything I want it to without the hassle of a DSLR
