Was it really in January this year that we were in Cádiz? It feels like another era, but one I can summon up in my head by remembering the glory of the sunsets we saw there. You’ll have seen at least some of these photos before, but this is your Virtual Holiday for the week. I’m presenting them to Jude for her Photo Challenge this week, and to Becky – well, one of them anyway – for her October Squares. How kind of me to share!

Beautiful, what a holiday it must have been.

It was. Hard to remember it was January, as the weather was lovely, and I have more springtime-ish memories.

Ha! Two minds with but a single thought 🙂 🙂 Your second from last is my absolute favourite.

Yes. It last a few seconds, then … gone.

Such lovely colours. Just goes to show that every sunset is different. Love the first image, thank you for the virtual stroll along the beach. And that amazing sun falling into the sea!

Falling into the sea is EXACTLY what it did. Astonishing.

We were due to be in Cadiz at the end of October. Easyjet cancelled the flights but we are glad about that.

We’re just returning from our rather wet but enjoyable walk from Spofforth, followed by a lovely meal at the Castle Inn.

Joyce – you know me. the words ‘wet’ , ‘enjoyable’ and ‘walk’ are rarely to be found in the same sentence, but I’m glad you enjoyed it!

They’re all beautiful. I seem to recall Kant had something to say about beauty and sunsets, but the question here is are your photos particularly beautiful as they all feature water?

That is an excellent point. Now I think about it, memorable sunsets – and sunrises – tend to include water.

Yes, it seems a different era and January in the south of Spain usually has great sun and sunsets, even sunrises but I usually miss those!
