An Unexpected Consequence of Election Leafleting …

… is finding this on a doorstep …

… or on guard in the garden …

… or this, outside a Parkhome site …

… or loitering about by its entrance.

  1. Ha ha! I hadn’t thought of putting something like that outside to prevent yet more paper coming through my door. I’ll be having a bonfire on Thursday night to get rid of it all.

  2. I guess I’m dense, but I don’t get the connection between leaflets and the statues. I did get quite a shudder from the photos as these are very much not my thing. 🙂

    1. Exactly. You go out to do a spot of innocent leaflet delivering, and find yourself running the gauntlet of a rather strange collection of garden ornaments.

    1. I was caught in the act – nearly – by the nice old lady who owns the first – er – statuette. She came out as I was about to take the photo. I had to pretend I was just making a phone call!

    1. Hmm. I became very judgmental, deciding that many of these plaster creatures did not belong in the households of Ardent Remainers. How shall I ever know if I’m right?

      1. There’s always the remote possibility that an Ardent Remainer has been given such a creature by a beloved grandchild – then what to do? Accidental breakage maybe, but oh dear . . . perhaps not.

  3. As a leafletter and canvasser for many years I can assure you that you’ve barely scratched the surface in matters of strange things to be seen in the homes and gardens of the British public. I am thankful to be able to say that it’s some years since anyone has answered the door with no clothes on – it used to happen at least once at every election.
