This week, for Leanne’s Monochrome Madness, our host Sarah (of Travel With Me fame) would like us to find a number of numbers. Well, here goes. The featured photo comes from Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Can I remember who the sculptor is? Not a chance. But this piece is big and bright and gloriously technicolored. I wonder if it’s still there?
Altogether more godly, righteous and sober is the hymn board in Masham Church announcing the choices of hymn for – presumably – the previous Sunday’s service.

Equally useful is this board spotted at Beamish Museum. As far as I remember, they’re the tokens used by employees to check in and out of work as they came and went.

Not quite so useful, but a lot more fun is this book, bought to delight my granddaughter and her parents, and anyone else lucky enough to have the chance to read this highly entertaining story.

And spotted once in France, a house number designed to include a small arithmetic lesson as you wait for the door to be opened for you.

Oh look! It’s past my bed time. I’m off …

Wonderful! You really are very good entertainment value, Margaret xx

Haha! Hope the grandkids still think so this time next week. They’re not up, so two minutes of peace ….

We just hosted the grandies at the lake house for a few days – lots of motion and sounds. Up, hot, and uh-oh were the words most frequently used. The twin boys are 21 months old and they had a grand time but it was relentless for me and grandma B. Enjoy the time with your grandies.

I love that French house number! I have fond memories of the Hepworths at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

There’s always something to have fond memories of at YSP. We’re nearer than you of course, but it’s stil far enough away that we don’t visit anything like often enough

Oh, thank you. I’d have settled for anything higher than 6/10!

The timing was a challenge. A household from Spain in residence keeps us on our toes and off the computer!

My first thought was clever, but I noticed it was already said, so I will say surprising and fun finds. And gave me I dead as I was stuck in a single minded search 🔍

Oooh, I’ll be off to see your post soon. It WAS tricky, wasn’t it?

You have a knack for finding the most interesting photos…..I love the clock in the rail station. And the count to one book… oh my. Enjoy your time with your grands. Peace (when you can get it). OH and does Malcolm join you on your trips?

Malcolm is usually part of Team Travel But I’ll be going to Spain on childminding duties next month by myself. 86 year olds can do without such duties in temperatures of well over 30c! It’ll be a test for me too … Peace? Not any time soon!

Wonderful photos! My favourites are the sculpture in the first and the clock in the last one. The arithmetic lesson is fun.

It is, isn’t it? I dont know whether that French household had that house number specially made, or if there is an off-the-wall company somewhere that offers such things.

Everyone a winner! Though the hymn board took me back to the compulsory church going of my youth.
