I thought of taking a walk, and pointing out all the textures I noticed, from moss to tree bark to muddy paths to rocky outcrops. I thought of showcasing an example of every different texture I could think of. But in the end I settled for this: a random gallery of Texture, in all its hard, soft, smooth, rough, grainy and prickly variety.

For Anne’s Lens Artists Photo Challenge: Texture
A lovely display of the various textures – hard, soft, smooth, rough, grainy and prickly. Love the rusty boat and the tree. I’m always on the look out for good textures when out for a walk with the camera. In Nature, you can never count on what you will find but interesting textures are everywhere.

They are! That’s what makes a solo walk so rewarding. Easier to nose around and notice. Thanks Dina.

Lovely shots, particularly the pebbles and climber against the wall. The crumbling gargoyle rather sums up how I feel about the world currently.

That crumbling gargoyle looks way too complacent about things, I think.

You’re proably right. Just … not wailing enough …

What marvellous randoms! LOVE the old rusting ship (but you knew I would!] and Miss Wilmott’s Ghost (or similar) is always a winner…

Quite texturous Margaret. I like the sculptures look of “Oh no, not another flippin’ tourist”

I know! Though to be fair, it was hidden in the mason’s yard, and I was snooping . So I suppose I was ‘another flippin’ tourist’.

you found some great textures and expressions. Nature does give us so many textures, we only replicate them

Thanks so much Anne. I wanted to do a little better by you than just a gallery of pictures, but … it’s been one of those weeks …

Your decision to share a random selection has paid off, as I love the variety of textures here! Probably the butterfly and the ripples in the sand are my favourites 😀

Thanks Sarah – yes, I liked the ripples one too. Memories as well!

Impressive collection of texture! The butterfly photo is amazing, I find they never stay put for long (or maybe I am too slow).

I know what you mean. This tropical specimen (from the Hornian Museum Butterfly House) was impressively lazy.

It’s been too darn cold for a nature walk this week. But you found plenty of textures anyway.

Way too many favorites to list on this one Margaret! If forced at gunpoint I’d have to say the white flowers with the bee – that is one gorgeous image!

Gunpoint? Steady on Tina! Thank you for choosing a favourite. I hope the person with the gun didn’t force you too hard😉
