Spotted on a recent trip to Leeds. The Bourse is a refurbished courtyard business area, its windows cleverly designed to slice up the reflections of the buildings opposite. Sit awhile on one of its benches in this oasis of peace in a busy quarter of the city.

For Jude’s Bench Challenge.
That’s a pretty neat place Margaret

It was a nice surprise. It was never like that when I lived in Leeds.

That is a smart piece of design. Quite a perplexing photo until you know what it is.

Indeed. And despite the apparent busyness of the reflections, this is a relaxing space.

While hen parties stagger past, in my experience, but the reflections and style are lovely. I’m sitting on a bench in Plac Wolnosci, Poznan, waiting for a tour guide xx

I regret not going to Poznan. Tell us about it later.

Great photo. It does look very peaceful and relaxing, and the mirrors. Add another dimension to it. During my trip to Europe, a couple of months back I saw tons of benches, but I never thought to take a photo. I kind of kick myself because some were pretty amazing. And when I read Susan‘s comment of 30° it didn’t look that cold then I realized you meant 86°F. Have a wonderful weekend!

Very clever indeed Margaret but I’m not sure looking for a while wouldn’t make me a bit crazy!!!

How very clever. Leeds has changed somewhat since my last visit there. I reckon that workman has clocked you taking the photos!

As there were four of us snapping away he’d have been blind not to!

I think I like the b&w version best because the reflections are more striking, or maybe it’s because of the slightly different angle from which you’ve taken it.

Oddly, this b/w fan prefers the colour here. But I like both. Thanks Anabel.

I was surprised to realize in this instance I prefer the color photo. Great shots.

Yes, I think the colour is a plus here. Thanks for looking and considering!

What an amazing effect – seems it is quite dynamic as the reflections shift as one moves around.

Yes, a gentle walk round the square with your eyes on the reflections is a worthwhile little stroll.

What an amazing reflection Margaret. The benches don’t look too comfortable!

No they don’t. I like a back rest.

I am going to have to convince my friends to venture into the centre when I am there in October!

Seriously. You must. The city centre area is transformed. Don’t your friends live there any more either?

oh they do, just usually when I visit we don’t head into the centre
