All over Europe, people are hot and bothered – not so much here up north, where it will only reach 25 degrees today. So my contribution to keeping you cool, if you’re affected by the heatwave, is to offer this refreshing sit down in our local wood.
For Jude’s Bench Challenge.
That’s very kind, Margaret. I would indulge, if you weren’t so far away xx

If it gets as hot your way as it sounds as if it will, it might be worth the effort😉xx

Just the ticket! We’re also at 25 degrees but miserably humid.

Oh dear. It’s not bad here. This bench awaits!

Thank you! Bath’s surrounded by hills with hot springs at its centre hence the humidity. It’ll pass.

Of course! I’d forgotten. Let’s hope high summer is less humid.

it is so humid today isn’t it, and apparently tomorrow is going to be worse. Might have to paddle in the Avon!

And very delightful it looks too. We are missing the sun and the very high temps down here. We just get the humidity. Which was horrendous yesterday. Tomorrow looks better. Tomorrow invariably looks better!

We too are dodging the highest temperatures. But luckily the humidity too. Heigh ho!

Ah, the same here. Today is very grey and humid with the sun desperately trying to break through. Neither one thing or another, if it actually rained at least the garden would benefit.

The sun is trying hard here now Jude. Whether it breaks through remains to be seen.

Oh no! When most other people are moaning about the heat. We’ve been lucky. Sunny, nicely hot but not too hot, a light breeze.

😒 Yes, rain would be good. At night.

We have had some at night, well heavy mist, but it doesn’t penetrate the soil.

Your bench looks like a place to stop and enjoy a moment. I checked the temperatures for our coming trip to London, Paris, and Amsterdam – really warm, but cooler temperatures are on the way. Swansea looks like it is going to be a bit in the cool side. I’ll be looking for benches along the way.

I gather ALL the UK’s in for a long hot summer. You may need a lot of benches!

That looks just what I need in London today – a shame it isn’t nearer! Or better still, if I were only a little further north, as 25 degrees sounds so much more comfortable than 30 😀

We’re lucky today. Just a nice old fashioned hot-but-not-too-hot day.

The same is true here in the US Margaret. Climate change I suppose. It’s an odd week when our very southern town is cooler than those in the northeast. Your bench looks like the perfect place to take a breather and enjoy some shade.

19C here and very humid. I Don’t Do Humid! A bench in the shade would be perfect with a nice refreshing breeze too please. I’m dithering whether to risk going outside to do some more root extraction, but fear it may be too hot.

Oh, humid’s horrid. The worst of all worlds. Stay inside with a book!

I had a quick whizz around the garden, cut back a bramble, removed some bindweed and took some photos before deciding it was too humid to work.

Only 25? Rub it in, my friend. It’s nearly 4 PM and 34ºC. That bench looks wonderful surrounded by all that green.

Sorry. But it is a well-placed bench.

Love that shaded bench and never sure where I should be when for sunny days. Really enjoyed Spring in the UK with so much more sunshine than here. It seems the rains continued for the Spanish spring! All good though as streams nearby still running.

Oh good. You’d think Spain would be worse off than us. but no. Yorkshire’s officially in drought.

Yes, I know as saw no water in one of the Woodhead reservoirs when crossing over in May. This is ‘plus ca change’ for the weather!
