I have chosen to stay in Premià this morning, perhaps because here it is grey and gloomy, even though warm enough. A beachside path leads all the way from Barcelona, through Badalona, Montgat, El Masnou, Premià and beyond – all the way to Mataró. Between the beach and the path is scattered a series of benches- wherever there’s a tree or two to offer welcome shade. Here are a few.

Nice!

And handy too, on a long coastal walk.

Very nice! There are times Barcelona is better at a distance. Off to a beach walk this morning to clear those germs xx

Let’s hope those pesky germs push off. Yes, we almost always do Distant Barcelona now xx

It is! Lots to see and enjoy with the sound of the sea as background.

I find we stop to admire the view very frequently now!

It’s very important to do that.

This looks like my kind of walk, flat, views, the sea, trees for shade and a bench or two to pause and take in those views. That’s if a pesky fisherman hasn’t taken over the entire bench!

Oh, I was expecting criticism from you for the Backless Benches!

I can do backless when pausing along a stroll. Wouldn’t necessarily choose that style for relaxing with a book.

And one I enjoy most days when there.

I like a seat in the shade of a tree on a hot day, and all the better if there’s a view to be enjoyed 🙂 I’m not sure how much shade I’d get from the trees in your first shot however!

It’s true. The shade dodges the benches at some times of day.

Love that the benches are all under the trees. I suppose if you want sun you’d best bring your own chair!

Trust me, it’s unremitting. I’ve you’ve been walking that hot sunny path, you want to rest in the shade. And I’m a sun worshipper.

Those are all attractive, but I particularly like your header. The trees definitely add drama.
