Beningbrough Hall is one of our local stately homes. An English Baroque masterpiece, its real delight lies in strolling round its gardens. Let’s do that now, for Dawn‘s turn as host of Leanne’s Monochrome Madness.
There are tulips …

…. and magnolias …

… and apple and pear blossom …

…. and so much else besides. But I’m keeping it simple today. I may take you back there another day.
I do hope you take us back there in colour!

Those tulips came out well – quite sculptural.

I hoped they worked, despite the lack of colour.

Much as I enjoy your monochrome, tulips and magnolias have to be in colour.

Funnily enough I prefer the magnolias in b/w, they seem to stand out better. And I picked tulips because I thought they worked ok too.

I especially love that last image.
Enjoy your company.

Thank you. We are doing. But we’re exhausted by the very young too!

You know how much I enjoy monochrome, and I’ll be posting my own monochrome spring flowers later. But in the case of both many of mine and yours too, on this occasion I think I’d favour colour. However I do really like the bottom right blossom shot (the close-up) and there’s something to be said for the leaning magnolia tree like this too.

I’m glad you liked the leaning magnolia, as I did too. This is a post however that I’d have done in colour if it hadn’t ben for the challenge..

Tulips, yes. Tree blooms are beautiful, but we have them later in spring. Lovely images

Thaks Ritva. We’ve had hottish spring. Which has been a bit odd.

I think I have been here many years ago. I join the many who prefer to see flowers in colour, but for the challenge they are impressive images.

I thought tulips and magnolia with their clear outlines worked quite well. But yes, I think colour for Spring is a given.
