Geometry in Museu Blau

Our last day in Catalonia. Malcolm and I took ourselves off to the Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona, commonly known as the Museu Blau. It’s in a really new part of town, Diagonal Mar. As the name suggests, it’s a thoughly geometric sort of area. Look.

And many of the museum’s contents are pretty geometric too. These fossils for instance …

… or shells …

… or butterflies & moths …

… or arachnids.

It’s a pretty fine museum. In an interesting area. And not on the tourist circuit. Yet. Recommended.

  1. Fabulous angles, Margaret! Intrigued by that first shot. Love the building more than the contents but a great last day out. Where did the time go? Safe journey home! So much rain around, it’s tricky.

  2. WOW! Sometimes my Son shares some new architecture designs. But I haven’t seen this, fascinated me. I think architects seem that they will make us amazed. Geometrical designs but never done before, something like that. Yes, you did a great post dear Margaret, Thank you, have a nice day, Love, nia

  3. That looks like such a striking building, it definitely appeals to me. I’m not so sure about the exhibits though, as I’m not a big fan of dead butterflies etc. The fossils are great however 🙂

    1. The weather is fine here, though getting colder. Stay safe tomorrow! I’ve scheduled a post on my phone (nightmare) for tomorrow – with difficulty. I’m pretty sure it will ping to today’s date. Sorry!

  4. Margaret, thanks for the beautiful visit to this museum. It felt as if I was there walking along from one exhibit to the next. I loved the angles, the reflections, and everything your eye captured. Fantastic!
