I thought yesterday’s post was the easier for regular followers of my blog, and some of you agreed. It showed the formal gardens of Studley Royal, and the deer park beyond, and the photos came from this post of two years ago, when I celebrated having a new camera by walking the grounds of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal one misty December morning.
Today I’m taking you to another UNESCO World Heritage site. But where?

Andrew of Have Bag, Will Travel invited me to join him and other bloggers to post one favourite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then each day, nominate someone new to join in on the same terms. Today I’m asking Nes Felicio Photography – you’re very well travelled and share wonderful photos on your blog. No pressure if it’s not for you, especially as it’s holiday season. Link back to this post if you decide to have a go.
Presumably that one in Cambodia that I can never spell, but I’m good at being wrong 🙂 🙂 Happy Saturday, Margaret!

Regarding yesterday, I knew I was tight because I have not been to the Studley Royal gardens.
On to today’s challenge. I haven’t been to this country, but I have high confidence with my guess – somewhere in India.

I think that it has to do with “A Great Indian Railway Journey” and is possibly Thanjavur.

It’s no Thanjavur, but that’s a good guess because it’s a city equally rich in temples. You’ve been paying attention at the back!

Could this be somewhere near to Chennai? Looks a bit like the place the OH visited when we were staying in Fisherman’s Cove, but I guess there are many similar temples around India. Nice photos btw 😊 I do love elephants 🐘🐘🐘

Now that is an elephant. Wonderful photo. Portland has a statue of a green elephant. I’ll post it tomorrow just for fun. 😀

That would be fun. Yes, do.

That’s difficult! There are several similar sites in India with elephant sculptures. It’s a country I would have loved to visit but I would have wanted to travel all over by train!

That’s how I travelled – and by long-distance bus too. both interesting ways of getting about, though train travel was less stressful!

Came to this photo too late. My guess was already verified in your next pose. You’ll probably not be surprised to know that this was the easiest of the lot for me.

Never! You’d have had to stand in the corner for a long tine if you hadn’t got it 😉

Looks to be an enchanting place. Sorry I have been too late to join in the guessing, but the closest I would have got is India!

It was a memorable day. And as to coming late to the party: well, there are no prizes, just a bit of fun having a go.
If we don’t ‘talk’ again before the day, hope you have a happy-enough Christmas.

I guess I’m late but I recognize Mamallapuram, or Mahabalipuram. It’s a fascinating site.

Yep!. So glad you too have had the chance to explore this place. Though I’ve been looking …. you’re rather well travelled….

We retired early so we could travel more and until this year it’s been great! Love your blog. Maggie

Yes, travelling is not much of an option. But you have so many wonderful memories, it seems. With the photos to back them up.
