This week, Leanne’s Monochrome Madness has no theme. She has chosen to showcase lighthouses. We’re rather thin on lighthouses round here, so I won’t join her. Instead, I’ll show just a few towers I’ve seen this year.
My first tower of the year was a human one, seen in York.

Then we went to Spain to meet our new granddaughter. And do a spot of discovering too.

And later, I went back to Spain again, to lend a hand as my daughter’s maternity leave ran out. I still had moments of sightseeing.

And most recently, it was off to Holgate Mill, a fully functioning windmill slap in the middle of a housing estate in York. I must introduce it properly soon.

My featured photo is of Christ Church Hartlepool, now an Arts Centre. I was going to add in an AI generated photo too. Just for fun. But they were no fun, so I abandoned the idea.
I’d love to see that Gaudi church. As for the unicyclist, not something I’d be keen to do at the best of times but particularly not on wet paving.

Well, exactly. It was never a career choice for me.

I’m very appreciative of Christ Church, Margaret, and yes, we saw that street artist in York too. I’m not far from Oceanografic in Valencia right now and there are lots of things towering above us. I’m having my first glass of red today while Michael eats his apple pie. Very pleasant 😁❤️

Apple pie? How very English! I do hope Valencia is living up to expectations. I can’t show you any street artists you don’t know already, can I?

It actually looked very Valencian apple pie but you can’t take him anywhere 🤣💙

A fun assortment of towers Margaret, and a great alternative to lighthouses! I’m intrigued by Holgate Mill, do tell us more some time 🙂

I will. Perhaps when I’ve managed to go on a day when it’s working hard.

Nice collection of towers. Always one to go off on a tangent, I wondered who the chap in front of the church was. Apparently Ralph Ward Jackson, founder of West Hartlepool, so I guess he can get away with his “Lord and Master of all I survey” pose.

Lots of great towers Margaret, I love that Gaudi’s one, it looks so interesting.
Well if we had towers for a theme, not sure what I do. lol.

What an interesting collection. The fully functioning windmill must be a rarity?

Fully functioning on some days only. I bought a selection of their flours and jolly good they are. A working windmill is a rarity – and in the middle of an urban residential area even more so! I must write about it soon.

Tons and tons of towers! The word reminds me of Faulty Towers, and their title bloopers, F*rty Towels was my favorite. Casa Guell, must save up for that dream trip to Catalonia.

I thought you had your own version of Fawlty Towers? But I’m glad you’ve seen the original. Yes, lots to add to your Catalonia Travel Must-Sees!
