How odd. Out walking recently, I found a circular picture frame at the edge of a field. It hadn’t chosen its view with care. Look.

Who wants a landscape with a tatty old fence post in the foreground? If it had chosen the previous field, it could have had a portrait of an odd number of cows filling the frame.

If it had re-sited itself only slightly, it could have had part of the view shown in the header photo.
If it had applied itself, it could have taken a lesson from the frame near Brimham Rocks. That’s chosen its view with advantage.

Frankly, the frame I found hadn’t made an effort. It had taken no care with its appearance either. It was just an odd-ball.
For Becky’s Square Odds.

You thought of everything.

Gosh, I love this post Margaret – thank you so much for framing it so well; really thought provoking!!
It’s such a nice idea to have a large frame as a ‘sculpture’… perhaps there are sometimes cows in the field that the first frame looks into… I’m imagining those huge beauties you’ve got in your photo posing individually in that odd, round frame…!!

They were huge indeed. And we were the most interesting things they’d seen all day. Picture frames in scenic spots are becoming quite a ‘thing’, aren’t they?

Yes they are, opening up lots of opportunity for quirkiness (or not!) – so interesting! 🙂

Could have rolled it to where you wanted it 🙂

Nah. Too much effort. It was well embedded.

If you had looked through from the other side of the frame would the picture have improved? 🤔

Although you can’t see why not, it would be difficult to get to the other side to see what the view might be. Nice idea though.

When I took the photo, months ago, I had no idea of its being an Odd Object, Centre Square 😉

Working on it. A long walk, and now embroiled in travel plans. It’s complicated, in this new post-Covid world, isn’t it?

Very complicated. We want to go somewhere in early April and are trying to second-guess which places will have the more relaxed entry rules!

Tell me about it. We are trying to get half way across Europe from Macedonia to finish up with Barcelona daughter, and it’s a nightmare.

I saw your comments about planning travel now. It’s so complicated. When we went to Vancouver in July, Canada was only open to families of Canadians or people with permanent residency. We had to bring our son’s birth certificate, a photo of his American passport and his citizenship status. Crazy! And then there were the PR tests…etc. But hopefully all this planning is worth it. I am hoping it will be for you.

I hope so. And I sense things are getting easier. And we’re getting quite savvy with all the paperwork. I think …

I think you’re a little hard on the poor tatty frame after all it did catch your eye for a photo in the first place.
