…. if you turn this corner?
An art installation, ‘Around the Corner’, in the Culture Mile, City of London, by Karsten Huneck and Bernd Truempler, KHBT .
William needed to explore.
This sentence is a a quotation from Virginia Woolf’s novel Jacob’s Room: ‘What are you going to meet if you turn this corner?’

Fun and lovely!

It was fun. William loves a treasure hunt, and so did I.

Talking about cute! 🙂 🙂 And what was round the corner, please?
Incidentally, I went to a Refood meeting in Tavira this afternoon. They are just getting started so it’ll be a while before it’s up and running properly. The presentation was all in Portuguese! 😦

The message is that there is something round EVERY corner here. Roman remains, city guild buildings, churches, reminders of the Great Fire of London, Tower of London … Interesting news about Refood. If you find out more, keep us posted.

I like the sentiment – and the photos you posted.

Yes, it achieved its objective. William explored – though because of the weather, more inside the Museum of London nearby.

The best thing about this installation is youngsters like William experiencing words bigger than him! Great photo opportunities for you, I especially like the ‘if’ shot.
An interesting quote for the artists to choose for a City installation, I get the enticement to explore angle, but one could also answer the question with another Global Crisis courtesy of either the virus or the climate. There’s a cheery thought, sorry.

I’m doing my best at the moment to stick my fingers in my ears and shout ‘Not listening!’ at the news at the moment, but I know that, depressing as it is, it’s too important to ignore for long.

I go in cycles of listening and attending to the news and then switching everything off and ignoring all the news. Haven’t found the balance.

So very weird that something is around one corner and something else around another.

How diverting – and serves to delay one from turning the next corner. I love William’s expressiveness and particularly like him walking through the arch of the “m” and being encircled by the “o”s.

Oh, he was well into it, especially because, as a new reader, he was eager to find out what the entire sentence said.

Wonderful to see you enjoying my home town. I never tire of walking around and always find something new or old. But also find it so busy and am ready to retreat to the country now! William seems quite a character and so good to enjoy outings together.

I love my visits to London, and exploring the less touristy sites when possible. But Country Mouse can’t cope with the Big City for too long and needs to retreat to her mouse hole in Yorkshire after a few days! William and his little sister are definitely a big draw though.
