You’ve come far too early – just as They’re getting us organised for the summer. You could have waited. Mind you, so could They. I’d have hung on to my woolly coat a while longer, but They decided differently. Do you realise it’s still only 1°C in the night? It’s a sheep’s life …

Monday Portrait.
Brrrh! Certainly is, Margaret. Great photo xx

At times it’s good not to have a fur coat, Margaret? Not that I ever did! xx

At the right time, I think they relish loosing those heavy winter coats,. Just … not yet. xx

A few dogs down here might empathize with that sheep.

Don’t they have sweaters?! I’ve even seen doggy rainwear…

True. But why shave a dog and then buy it a sweater? Naturally short-haired dogs do indeed get togged up in winter.

Couldn’t agree more, but there’s money to be made. I do have sympathy with lurchers and the like, though.

Agreed! A friend has a whippet who can shiver dreadfully in winter.

Same down here. Very chilly indeed. Our local sheep have all still got their warm coats on.

Definitely need that fur coat at night! Maybe someone will take pity on them and knit a jacket from all the wool.

You offering? I can’t knit!

Loads of talented knitters / crocheters in your neck of the woods. If they can yarn bomb a tree a sheep should be a doddle 🤣

It’s turned so chilly again that I reckon the sheep will be missing their woolly coats! A fun post 😀

Fun for you and me. For them? Not so much.

Poor things! How will they handle this undecided weather? We’ve been experiencing ups and downs here, too.

It’s bad enough for them, but worse for birds. The young are hatching daily now and there are no insects about in this cold. Nestbox checking this morning for our weekly survey revealed too many dead hatchlings.

Eyes closed to shut it the indignity! I hope the shearer is skilled or there could be some nasty nicks.

Indeed. It was a chilly day, but they were sweating in their vest tops. Poor sheep though. It’s still unseasonally cold. I’m messaging you today – honest! Sorry for the delay!
