More Monday Windows from Saltaire

For Ludwig’s Monday Window

The bots are out to get me! For the last few days, I have been the World’s Most Popular Blogger, with stratospherically high viewing figures. This has happened in the past, and changing my password has instantly solved the problem. This time it’s had no effect. Any suggestions?

    1. Erm. How am I supposed to know? It was blue. As a witness taking to the Police, I’d be useless. On a good day, I could tell them the colour, whether it was big or small, battered or in good nick. Maybe.

  8. That’s a fun shot, though it messed with my head at first 😀 I’ve had that issue of a sudden surge in popularity in the past but I always ignore it and it usually settles down after a day or two, so maybe it was just a coincidence that changing your password seemed to sort it?

    1. If only Jo. No, it’s definitely bots. Traffic to individual posts remains at normal levels, just the number of site-viewers is through the roof. And if they’re not looking at particular posts, what ARE they looking at??? xx

  10. I found that having comments close automatically after 120 days stopped almost all bot and spam activity. Perhaps because they rely on that facility as an open door? Go to Settings/Discussion settings/Other comment settings, and you can adjust it there.
