Night Time

Night photography isn’t really my thing, so Elke, this week’s host for Monochrome Madness, provided me with a real challenge when she proposed Night time as her theme.

Unsurprisingly, towns and cities provided me with a few ideas. Let’s go on a quick tour. Let’s visit Albania, England, Spain, France, South Korea and Poland…

Really though, Country Mouse prefers to dodge big cities. My featured photo is of the moon as darkness fell recently, while the photo below was taken just at the end of the road.

      1. Of course I have zero idea, just relied on a couple of casual conversations. But I did see one newspaper headline while we were there mentioning that very surname! xx

  1. Monochrome nightscapes from cities are something I always find attractive. Yours are lovely, specially that mildly misty cobbled lane. But the real killer is the countryside in moonlight.

  2. I agree cities tend to work best for night photography – I love the textures of the cobbles in your Arras shot in particular 🙂 Also the symmetry of the cathedral in Korçë. And your moon close-up is also really good!

  3. Luckily if you don’t get a good night shot, you always have another chance in twenty-four hours. 🙂 They all look great to me. I like the end of the road one too.

  4. I live in an area where there is too much light for night time sky photography and I don’t try hard enough with a real camera to figure it out… but I have captured a few good images with my phone camera…. you always inspire me with your photographs and black and white is the perfect medium for a night time shot. Keep making this days count, peace.

  5. Oh my Margaret, there’s so much to like in these images. I especially like the way the light hits the cobblestones, the church and the street scene with the Ferris wheel.

  6. Your city scapes are definitely worth a look. I particularly like the bridge with the reflections on the water. But your moon with the single tree is fabulous.
