Our time in Shropshire resulted in a few finds that didn’t make it onto the postcards I sent. Now – thanks to Becky’s Seven in September – I have my chance.

Now you can sort out t’other from which.
- An owl in a Church Stretton garden.
- An elderly marionette in an elderly pushchair spotted in an antique shop in Ludlow.
- A pugilistic fairy figure in Bishp’s Castle.
- More owls – little ones spotted in Shrewsbury.
- A peacock mincing – very carefully – down steps at Powis Castle.
- A decorated drainpipe reminiscent of those in Valencia – in Ludlow.
- A fish van in Shrewsbury.
Interesting…odd, weird but interesting 🙃

I’d prefer cake to caviar!

Definitely. Odd stuff, isn’t it, caviar?

yeah. Had it a couple of times, and whilst I enjoyed what I had couldn’t really see why so much fuss is made!

I actively disliked it. Cheap to keep, me.

Well of course I spotted the armoured elf straight away. A curious entity whose story I have yet to discover. The ‘no caviar’ though is a hoot.

Definitely a hoot. I’m sorry you don’t know the story of the elf though. I was hoping you’d chip in.

That’s a splendid owl shot. Nice counterpoint to the peacock daintily picking his way down the steps.

The birds nail it this time, don’t they?

All good but the mincing peacock takes the caviar!

yeah that’s the really frustrating thing about it I feel is that the hosts don’t know. I have only presumed everyone gets it with mine because I was experiencing it elsewhere. Hopefully no longer happens on mine!

A wonderfully quirky selection. Maybe there’s a story in there somewhere, using each of those photos. Mine would begin with that mincing peacock…

Well, this is an odd assortment! A great set of finds, although the marionette seems a little spooky to me 😀

Jude would agree with you on that!

What an eclectic collection. I have always disliked marionettes, this one is no exception. The fairy is odd, but rather nice and well done on finding the face on the drainpipe. I missed that one.

So much to see, you can’t spot everything! I’m neither one way or the other about marionettes. Childhood trauma in your case??

No. Just a shop full of puppets in Wakefield that I used to pass and always thought they looked creepy.

it’s always fun to group unqiue/weird things together and see what the comments and common denominator is. For me the odd one out is thar weird freaky doll!

Yes, a little unsettling certainly! It won’t get sold any time soon, I think.

The caviar takes the biscuit, as is only right I believe! (or toast, or blini)

Just give me the biscuit, toast or blini. I’ll pass on the caviar.

The peacock made me smile, especially with the Shropshire connection. We used to have them roaming around at the nursery and if one decided to wander, it was quite a problem. I love your idea of gathering seven things together rather than counting flowers or petals, which I have foolishly been trying.

Nothing foolish about that. There are at least 7 different ways of doing this challenge … Wandering pecocks though … aaagh.
