It’s not the best photo ever, but I love it. Evening. A busy street in Thessaloniki. A woman enjoys some time out by dragging a chair out – not onto the pavement, but into the road itself. Well, why not? Streets were for people long before they were used by cars.
For Debbie’s One Word Sunday: Seating (well, 44 words in my case)
Well, One Word for the title, so that’s fine, surely? That woman looks SO Greek, and I hope there were no cars around to disturb her reverie

The street seemed busy to me. But she was in her own world and not bothered at all.

Quite. It’s her chunk of road. What’s the problem?

Oh so Greek! And very considerate of the pedestrian flow.

Absolutely. She was in her own little bubble, bothering nobody, and nobody bothered her.

NOT something I’d recommend in London!

well, she is kinda close to the curb. Looks like she needed a break or had something she needed to do.

I don’t think so. She was quite chilled, and stayed there all evening.

Thanks! I’m still quite shy of shooting people – hence the fuzz – I try to be a bit under-the-radar.

They’ll drive around her without a thought.

How wonderful when your living space expands out into the street and gets respected like that. We can learn a lot from such an accommodating approach to living as seems often to be evident in Greece.

I agree. People come first seems to be the motto. Except on certain busy roads which need to be crossed …

fantastic shot – I wonder if she had had an argument with the bloke behind her!

by the way does the ‘subscribe’ pop up by WordPress appear for everyone these days, or is there a way of turning it off. I am so out of date with WP

She is in her own world. A nice street shot, Margaret!

She was totally uncaring what the world thought. Her own reveries sufficed.

Too funny. I guess something on her phono was pressing.
