If you look at this girder in a certain light, it looks slightly orange. Maybe. But I just wanted to find an excuse to post this photo: almost the only one I took in colour on our Newcastle sortie the other day.

For Debbie’s One Word Sunday: Orange.

We spent one day in Newcastle and Gateshead a few years back while visiting that area and my favourite photo on that grey rainy day was someone standing on the bridge under a large rainbow umbrella.

Perfect! You have to take your blasts of colour where you can on grey rainy days.

What a ‘great’ bit of graffiti! There’s definitely a story in this one!

Isn’t there just? Maybe we should write it?

It’s true it’s not orange. But with that story … who cares?

As others have said it would be a perfect start for a short story.

Great, find, write that story! But, er, Orange? Perhaps you should have gone to Specsavers!

I did say…. but you can force it. By putting it under certain kinds of light you can produce a kind of burnt orange 😉

I definitely think more raspberry than orange, but who cares when it has such great words

That’s a brilliant spot and there has to be a story behind it! But you’re really pushing it to convince us the Swing Bridge is orange – it’s red and white and as far as I know has always been red and white!!

Like I said to Sue, if I put my laptop in sight of a certain lamp, and squint hard, I can persuade myself it’s orange-ish 😉

Ah, but can you persuade the rest of us?!

Don’t care really. It was just a peg to hang the post on. 😉

Of course it fits the prompt. Add red and yellow, what do you get? ORANGE!

It’s definitely red, but I like it. I’ve tried with and without sunglasses 🤣🧡

Sunglasses are something quite unnecessary here just now. You at least had decent(ish) weather when you were here for That Wedding!

I found it hilarious that there was a thunderstorm in Palma today and Lauren hadn’t packed a raincoat. She availed herself of marital rights and borrowed his, and he’s still smiling.
