Indignant indeed! But such lovely clean, glossy feathers!
Such a delightful picture Margaret. I think she has so much to tell you and is a little overexcited to finally meet someone who has sympathy for her cause. That is, most definitely, a duck smile!

Absolutely – was that the root of indignant feelings – had he / she not quite finished preparing for the camera?!

Almost certainly. A Duck’s Public expects better 😉

Conversational, I thought. Happy Monday!

Ducks conversational powers are limited, I think, and mainly confined to indignation in my experience .

I stand corrected. My experience with ducks is severely limited.

I remember her as being a bit of a nag, actually.

Is it for real? I thought at first it was a sculpture. Definitely surprised at the camera being thrust into its face! Polite to ask next time…

I thought I had, I’ve probably got a rubbish Duck Accent.

She looks as if she was taken aback by your camera and didn’t really want to be in a photo today!

And yet if she’d known she was going to have 15 minutes of fame on a blog read by people in several continents …. 😉

Thanks Cee. There seems to be some curiosity about what s/he is actually thinking!

What a brilliant portrait. That duck looks somewhere between “I’m really curious.” and “I’m not sure what you want from me.” b

Did she hiss on your lens? Or is it only geese that hiss?

She didn’t. As you say, that seems to be a goose thing.

Interesting to see that a real duck can look quite Disney-esque! A remarkable portrait.
