A folly bursting forth from a folly, the Temple of Piety, Studley Royal.

Find out more about These Passing Things.
For Brian at Bushboy’s Last on the Card for this month. What was your last photo of August? Why not join in? Good bad, or indifferent – anything goes.
I prefer the temple unadorned!!

I wouldn’t want it permanently there, but it’s fun, and in the spirit of the follies which were such a feature of gardens for a long period.

Yes, I think that’s fair!

Yes it is. But in a good way.

Follies indeed. Can’t imagine the quantity of inflatable material used for that ‘temporary’ installation – our fossil-fuelled, sorry, folly-fuelled society made physical.

Oh, crumbs, Agnes, I actually hadn’t thought of that. I enjoyed the fun of the folly, but now I shall have to reconsider … 😦

Oops, sorry to be a party pooper. My daughter now calls me a ‘doomer’, although I think that’s a little harsh and slightly tongue in cheek. 😁

That is so wonderfully mad. I love it – amazing angle. That tree is in the right spot to draw your eye up from the intense yellow. That is the craziest Last Photo award winner for sure. Thanks for joining in Margaret 🙂 🙂

That’s such an odd thing. I’m sure I would stop to stare at something like that if I passed it on the road. I like it

I agree, this is totally wacky! Looks like something from a Dr Who program.

A unique last on the card, I like it! The 1787 account of a visit is just perfect too!

I love Studley Royal. Not sure that I totally embrace these passing things but art installations are meant to be thought provoking, aren’t they? And that’s a great capture, Margaret.

You’re right. It’s provoked interest and an unexpected amount of positivity. But as ever … each to their own.
