It’s a 2005 installation by Peter Burke. This ‘Assembly’ is of 14 cast iron figures who symbolise the town’s industrial past, specifically in munitions making. I found they made quite a statement, and though I was at that point unaware of their significance, I liked their earthy, utilitarian feel, set among the elegance of Woolwich’s naval architectural heritage.
LOL, excellent eye on this one Margaret. Either the pigeon was very lazy or you were very quick! They always seem to fly away when I try to catch them.
I needed a Saturday morning smile. Thanks, Margaret xx

It’s a group of statues. There’s a pigeon on the head of one of them. What can I say?

Well, I understand the pigeon. But not the sculptures, what do they represent? Meaning?
