Flaxmill Shadows

In August last year we were in Shrewsbury. One of the places we enjoyed visiting was Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings (it did exactly what it said, once upon a time). I wrote about it here. But I didn’t show you some of the very fine shadows we found. Here they are now:

  1. I love shaow photos. Sometimes when I’m walking the dog her shadow will be soooo big, and other times it’s trotting along beside her just like I’m walking two dogs instead of one. Then there are the shadows on the driveway of the flowers I planted along side it. Oh…and the blue shadow of a small pine tree in the yard on the smooth white snow in winter. Shadows often make the image. I’ve found it’s the same when I’m doing watercolors. If there’s something missing from the art it’s usually that I need more darks.
