Lovely shot of yours! We may well go out on a boat, but Colmar has put us off a bit by being utterly jammed with tourists in the Little Venice area. Easy enough to get away if you leave the zone, but …. hard to move there.
Lovely photo. Enjoy your vacation. Post cards are nice, sadly only a few send them anymore….and they are difficult to find. When I was in Europe, I sent a quite a few back home, but some looked as though they had seen many post card seasons!
Colmar (and Strasbourg) REALLY are picture book places. And they do everything that they are being kept that way. Need I say ‘I wouldn’t want to live there but I love visiting whenever possible’.? They truly are ‘out of this world and time’ places.
We were shocked at the crowds. But it’s also easy to visit other charming towns that aren’t yet tourist heavy. They’re probably keen to keep their charms to themselves!
Thanks for jogging my memory of a holiday about 20 years ago now. Really enjoyed the Alsace region – my only issue was the food. The meat heavy options were not ideal for a vegetarian!
At least in Germany I could usually find pasta. I also struggled in parts of the USA which simply had no concept of no meat. Chicken apparently doesn’t count as meat

And in many ways still aren’t. But vegetarian choices ARE now available, though you have to be prepared to put up with less variety.

I was once served a ham quiche in France because, she said proudly ‘I remembered you were vegetarian’.
