There you are. It’s just behind that house, getting ready to go. Fabulous views of the Yorkshire Dales this morning. We’ll be back in time for lunch at the pub.

Nope, I’ve not been. I was just looking on as it went up …. and later, came down. One day ….

We get a lot of hot air balloons over Bath. It looks wonderful but I’m not good with heights.

Nor am I. I somehow feel a hot air balloon would be different. I’d like to find out.

No, I’ve never been in a hot air ballon. I was merely an observer. I’d love to have a go though.

I agree it would be fun, but I’d be nervous the first few moments of flight.

I’d be a gibbering wreck. But I hope I’d settle down.

We did a tethered hot air balloon in Krakow many years ago and I’ve been to the Bristol festival, which was amazing to watch, but I’ve never done a proper flight xx

When I was a kid I wanted to learn to fly a plane. Or at least go up in a balloon. Maybe even sky dive. But now days, 60 years later, I think it’s OK that I don’t. But they sure are pretty!

Dear Margaret
We all would like to fly in a balloon. We haven’t done it yet.

I once bought a Virgin balloon flight for John’s birthday. We managed to do it just in time for his birthday two years later! It kept getting cancelled. Too windy. Not enough wind. You name it.

Myself and a friend have been trying for 12 months , on the 7th booking in August. I will be amazed if we actually get up , up and away!

I can’t remember how many cancellations we had. I was fooled by the advert which said they had departure points all over Scotland. I didn’t realise that meant they had one balloon which they carted about the place! a couple of times we had even booked a weekend away around it. It was fun when we finally got up though.

An earworm, but a good one. Lovely sight to see a balloon or more than one.

Always lovely to see a balloon. Having an earworm? Not so much.

Love the shot of the balloon behind that house, yet another unusual angle taken by you. Think Jo’s tethered trip is the one for me. Cast loose am not sure I would enjoy the views as realise now I must have a fear of flying free.

we have to book directly with one of the firms, so I am thinking we try for next year and then promote to others to either book themselves or come along and watch xx

Wow! This conversation carried on somewhat! I’d be happy to see the balloons, I remember Jo posting about them (I think), but going up in one? No, don’t think so. I do remember one coming down opposite our house in Cape Town, luckily when there was still plenty of space. It was awfully BIG!

They ARE. That one behind the house that I posted was gigantic. Not for you then? I was hoping to meet you at last!

I’m not saying no. Bristol is doable – about a 3 hour drive I think.
