When I posted a version of the image above as part of Becky’s #SimplyRed challenge, no fewer than three readers suggested I issue a challenge of my own: to produce a piece of micro fiction based on that intriguing piece of graffiti. Who’s up for it? You three who suggested it? (You know who you are). I supppose I’ll have to too. 100 words maximum. I gather that this form of story telling is called a drabble. If you’re up for it – by this time next week, please….
As you can see, squared, it was impossible to display the entire cri de coeur in a single image.

Becky’s #SimplyRed.
Debbie’s Six Word Saturday.
Squaring does have it’s limitations. And it’s possibilities! I’ve never heard it called a drabble, so thanks for that. And now I need to pop back to India- I missed it yesterday. Happy weekend! Wet? xx

About to be VERY wet. Opportunities to drabble away all day! Have a good – and not wet? – weekend Jo xx

The youngster broke up yesterday so he’ll be happy to lounge in his bedroom. And the older youngster was out last night so he’ll have his head under the pillow! He’s counting down to their wedding anniversary- to be spent in a smart hotel in Porto. They’ll be broke when we arrive in the UK next month. Nothing new! xx

Interesting challenge. Telling a story about the picture could be fun and creative. We arrived in Amsterdam and are off to the countryside for an adventure.

Oh, that would be such an interesting challenge. I’d say give it a try. It would be different and stretch our creative brains.

I’m not sur writing fiction is really ‘me’ so I’ll probably pass, but if inspiration strikes I’ll get back to you!

Interest and fun idea, Margaret! Writing fiction can be challenging for me.

Didn’t I see this just recently? Enjoyed it again.

You did. But because it presented three readers with the idea of the writing challenge, which I took them up on, I repeated the first post and exppanded on it!

I suppose I ought to have a try since I suggested it, but fiction is not really me. I will give it some thought…🤔

I’m not a big fiction writer either, so it’s a challenge for me too. We’ll blunder on together!

Mine’s done. Will be posted tomorrow evening (when most people won’t notice) and pingback to this post.

Yes I read that. Pretty good, but I think Dawn is a writer as well as photographer?

An interesting challenge! I’ve written a bit of fiction — it’s 100 words how hard could it be 🤣🤣🤣

Does the first side (the picture cuts off) say “what if she says no”?

There was nothing on the other side, as far as I could tell.

That should be interesting. I’ll keep up with the stories you mention here.
