Pounding Round Parkrun

Every Saturday, my grandson and his dad walk up the road to Mountsfield Park, arriving by 9.00 o’clock sharp, to participate in Parkrun , one of the  1,342  5km. running events taking place simultaneosly, country-wide, every week.

Here he is, running not with his dad, but with an unknown individual who gets his 5 minutes of fame by sporting a bright red T shirt, especially for Becky’s #SimplyRed.

  1. That is SO COOL that they get to do a 5K together every week! Those are memories that will be kept forever. Plus it’s something active they do to keep in shape. That guy in red is way too serious. I love the boy’s red cheeks.

  2. OMG the unknown male looks fierce. He takes his running seriously! Which is why parkrunners and hashers don’t really mix. There is a small overlap but not in large numbers.

      1. It depends. At least at the German park runs there are some weirdos who take their time seriously and try for better everytime and best and all time best.

  3. I’m one of those people who thinks Park Run is a great idea but yet never quite gets round to doing one. Great shot though, I hope the chap was happy with his time and efforts!
