If the Dominic Cummings bench last week was a bit scary, what about this one? It was part of last year’s Scarecrow Competition in a local village last summer, and represents I guess, our King and his Consort.

Apparently, His Majesty can’t afford any shoes ….
For Jude’s Bench Challenge. (Sorry, Jude, I’m away, so this post is scheduled, and making use of a previous link)
Poor old Charles! He’s not everyone’s cup of tea but he didn’t ask to be born to Royalty xx

Love it! And will now have to catch up with the Dominic Cummings one. Going north of Barnard Castle in the half term to visit Thomas Bewick house in Tyne valley. Might need to test my eyesight to see all the fine wood engravings!

That sounds fun. Post visit post required, please!

Great photo. I love the annual Scarecrow Festival. There is a really good one at Kettlewell – when my grandson was very small we took him and his brother to it. One scarecrow was poised in old overalls under a car fixing it. My young grandson thought that he had been run over and started crying. Only an ice cream could stop his tears 🙂

Kettlewell was the first place where we ever saw a Scarecrow Festival. They’re all over the place now. That garage mechanic one sounds excellent.

I’d be worried about my legs if I were Camilla.

Definitely. You’d have thought she would queue-jump and request private treatment.

Totally fabulous! I love scarecrow festivals. Sadly the school one in the local garden didn’t happen last year.

That’s a pity. Lots of local scarecrow geniuses rear up on these occasions.

Love all the comments too. Poor Brian must think we Brits are bonkers. 😂

Poor Charles, no feet and no hands and Camilla does rather over dominate him 🤭

Well you would, wouldn’t you, if your partner couldn’t even be bothered to put his shoes on?

What I enjoy most about this artwork, Margaret, is that it provoked conversation. And that is what makes life so interesting!!!

That’s not your usual scarecrow! 😊

Indeed not! There were a lot of ‘ not your usual’ scarecrows in that village exhibition.

Quite a good likeness……. Poor Charles can’t get a break! Stolen shoes and gloves, and someone took Camilla’s gloves too so she can’t help out…. Terrible. If someone made a scarecrow of Trump and Melania they’d be deported to El Salvador’s super max. I’m nervous even joking about it, truly….

Blimey. Well, sadly, you’ve lost your tourist market. Everyone is too scared to visit.

I think THIS Camilla needs to see somebody about her varicose veins, her extremeties look lumpy. But she is definitely taller than Charles, he looks browbeaten.

She definitely OUGHT to wear the trousers … for several reasons.
