I spent much of Thursday in this lovely park with some members of my photo club on Thursday. I thought I ought to take a few shots of benches, in among, especially for Jude’s Bench Challenge. Here they are: though the header photo was taken in the town centre, and shows a bench as possible Photo Opportunity. As you see, we declined to take advantage.

A haven of peace for me when I lived up Penny Pot Lane from 1964-67!

Good old Penny Pot Lane. It now supports Harrogate’s second tip. Sorry, Household Waste Recycling Centre.

That looks a lovely place for a photography outing! Nice to see that clump of daffodils in the sunshine 🌞 And I like your candid shots, especially the monochrome ones.

Wow! I think you’ve got a whole year’s worth of benches in one post there. I like the last one best with the couple on one bench balanced by another bench in the background.

I had a fun time sneaking photos of blameless citizens.

Aren’t they lovely? I particularly like the black and white shots, and really you should have got some of your camera club pals to sit on that first bench with the frame. I think I have only ever been to Harrogate once and that was to a Yes concert in the theatre (?) perhaps, wherever it was we had seats in the gods and could barely see the tiny figures on the stage! (roughly 1971)

I never thought of Harrogate Theatre as THAT big! As to the picture-frame bench. It was the end of our day together and we had all parted to go our separate ways. Missed opportunity!

What a great place, Margaret. In the end, looks like the weather was kind to you. Love the image with the dappled sunlight and looks like you’ve got enough benches for a few Sundays!

I had a bit of fun anyway, and that’s the main thing 😉

I was lured into sitting on that photo bench in 2014, the summer of the Tour de France.

Excellent! You’re part of the annals now. Wasn’t that summer fun, with all the TdF razz-ma-tazz?

I enjoyed these and the framed bench is a fun idea! I had only seen such photo op frames for large vistas before.

They seem to be a growing phenomenon. As you say, quite good fun.
