It was all going (fairly) well. And now here we are, banged up in Béziers. In La Prison. Don’t worry though. We’re ok. It ceased to be a penitentiary in 1993. Now it’s an hotel. And pretty well appointed too, commanding views of the town and countryside beyond. I’m only squaring one photo. Frankly it’s a faff on the phone. But you might want to see what we’re up against.

There’s enough geometry in those prison walkways and doors to meet the theme. And if not, I’m banged up anyway. Punishment enough.
For Becky’s GeometricJanuary.
It looks a bit freaky to me, Margaret, but at least it’s stopped raining. Clever you- I have no idea how you square on a phone camera. I do quite fancy seeing Beziers though. Safe onward journey!

Thank you. I’m slightly uneasy about the hotel/prison but it’s very well done. I square by eye on the phone. Not easy. Béziers is HILLY!

I have wondered about prison hotels. When they closed Grafton Goal I thought it would make a good hotel. I think council or the state govt has squashed anyones plans to do that.
I see my armless quip was already taken 😁
I hope you had a comfortable night. Who had the top bunk? Did you get a bucket for a toilet too 😂

Slopping out did not apply. Double bed also available. I think I will have to write a post about the place. It was quite impressive.

Great geometry theme in the prison photos. The foosball giants are a bit creepy though!

They somehow seemed appropriate. I may write a post about the place. It was … interesting.

We didn’t eat at the Prison as it happens, but we had an excellent night thanks. And … we’ve arrived at our destination, so I may catch up with your posts – and everyone else’s – soon.

Pleased to hear you arrived without mishap, and hope the weather’s better there than it is here.

It actually looks beautiful Margaret – must have been quite a job re-doing it! Not sure it wouldn’t feel a bit creepy tho!

In one way it did. But it HAS been very well done, and its situation is beautiful. A good night, actually.

It looks interesting. And you should be able to set your phone camera to 1:1 for future squares.

Ooh – not sure about the former prison now reincarnated as a hotel!
Better though than the historic former prison in my home town that was being repurposed, and where the gallows room with trap doors still in place was being converted to a coffee shop!
