A Goat on Top of the World

Today’s so chilly: it feels like the first day of winter. Let’s have a goat cheer us up. She can also serve to introduce next week’s Monochrome Madness, whose theme will be Bridges. And of course to feature in Seven for September. How many tyres can you see?

  1. a wonderful goat-king shot. they climb truly on every- and anything! and you‘ve got the 7 right; although I suspect the 8th tire is partly encroaching the picture frame….
i took a lovely swim in lake Constance on Saturday but right after it started to rain hard and temps dropped by more than 10° C. Now I look with some sadness at my season card for ‚my‘ lake and have already taken the decision to wash every bit of summer stuff (beach utensils) to put them away. temps have fallen to 7-15°, it rains on and off, the air smells of autumn. let‘s get those winter teas out, we breakfast with candles, I fear that our months of eating every meal on our patio are sadly over….

  2. What a fun shot, and ticking so many challenge boxes too! The monochrome edit works well (or did you shoot in B&W?), as does the square crop, and I love that you fitted the seven tyres into that square frame 🙂

  3. So why do goats like to be on top of something? Hmmmm….. The rabbit hole opened and this is what I found at the bottom of the hole!! Goats are naturally inclined to seek higher ground, which provides them with a sense of safety and security. Elevation allows them to survey their surroundings for potential predators, making them feel more secure. Being on a hill, a tire or building helps goats to engage in their instinctual behavior of climbing and exploring, which is essential for their mental and physical well-being. This behavior also aids in social interactions, as goats often establish hierarchies and prefer to assert dominance from a higher vantage point.

A wonderful black and white capture, Margaret.

  4. A brilliant image, and perfect for b&w although I did count 8. You could claim 7 plus 7% of another – scientifically calculated of course. I liked the second goat too. I thought it was a drawing inside the tyre at first glance. An image that repays looking.
