Reflections

This post is just an excuse to share a few photos from the outside of Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona and the modern buildings round and about. When I went, the music festival Primavera Sound was in full swing in the evenings – Emily and Miquel had been the night before – so whole swathes of the area were out of bounds. My plans to explore were curtailed.

So after I’d ‘done’ the museum (maybe worth a post later?) I caught a tram to the Port Olímpic.

Both areas are full of glass-clad buildings reflecting images of the space in which they stood. Connecting with them, just too late for me to pop them into Donna’s Lens-Artists Challenge: Connections. You can connect with me too – two and a half times – there I am in the last photo of all, snapping away.

For Ludwig’s Monday Window.

  1. Modern glass fronted buildings lend themselves to this sort of thing, don’t they? Once I start snapping I can’t stop! There was a very nice etched glass one just round the corner from our apartment in Nantes.

    1. I know. I bought an unlimited transport pass for the month and jumped onto an immoderate number of trains, buses and trams, sometimes with no idea of where I was going – just to see where I ended up. It generally worked.

  2. I really enjoy this sort of architectural photography with ultra modern buildings like these – they remind me a bit of London’s Docklands. ANd fun to find your reflection among them 😀

  3. Funny, I have friends in Barcelona right now. They aren’t sending many pictures but what I have seen is really stunning, as are your images. I guess I should figure out a way to go.

    1. Do Dawn, But for goodness sake go in the winter months if you want to avoid the crowds. The weather is still mild enough for people-watching with a coffee in the open air.
