This has been a great year for blossom – though sadly, it’s nearly all over now. Let’s hope though that these burgeoning blossoms become ripe fruits for us – or the birds – to enjoy as summer and autumn come our way.

Gorgeous shots! Blossom lifts the heart, doesn’t it, and we have wisteria here now.

Oh, here too. It’s just emerging from its tightly furled buds. And lilac. Lilac blossom sadly is for one-week-only before turning a bit ugly as it dies, and then boring for the rest of the year.

And for some reason white lilac (and white wisteria) looks even sadder when it’s over.

The return to normal temperatures and lots of rain whilst a struggle for us humans have been a delight for the blossom – must try and remember this upside to grey skies!
Gorgeous burgeoning post 😀

We’ve still got quite a few blossoms to look forward to, while others are still in full swing. Spring, as per usual, rather late in Scotland. That first burst of colour and hope, so welcome. Thanks for sharing those lovely pictures.

Wonderful pictures. They may not last long but they do bring great joy and the promise of later fruits.

Lovely blossom. It’s surprising how well it does despite the rain. Cold and wet here in Surrey… brr

Yes, the blossom has been very resilient. Enjoy Surrey, weather notwithstanding.

I love this time of year, with its gentle and delicate spring blossoms. Cherry blossoms remind me that we live within impermanence – to live in the moment and to take lots of photos to view in the middle of January. LOL!!!

It doesn’t last more than a few weeks but it’s glorious while it does, isn’t it? I used to love cherry blossom time at Houghall in Durham.

Wow! What a feast for the eyes! I can almost smell the scent in your beautiful photos, Margaret.

Actually, most blossom barely smells. We have to wait for lilac and wisteria (This week! Hooray!) for that.

love all the different types of blossoms you captured. Are they all on your property? I spent the morning fertilizing our fruit trees, fingers crossed they blossoms and it doesn’t free that day.

No, these photos are from all over the place. Well done on your hard work. I hope it results in splendid crops later.

Fingers crossed we get moisture this year. We water the trees but can’t water enough to make up for living in a drought.
