  5. Made me laugh (and I had to leave Jetpack to even see the photo!)
    When we lived in France, I bought online a GPS for Switzerland. It took forever to arrive and when it did, it had stamps from a Russian country, I forget which one. It was probably a stolen copy of an original disc in the 1990th and most of the newer roads were shown as driving through green-nowhere land…. That‘s the other ‚chance‘ we take with modern sat nav. It‘s not new and it‘s not reliant. I found myself once at the end of a one-cart trail with the ocean at the end and literally no space to turn. Luckily the sand was firm and I could turn the rental car around…. Oh the fun I had!

  9. For a while German GPS systems had a disclaimer when you switched them on. Something along the lines of “use common sense before following directions” – this was after a few people had driving into rivers because the GPS had instructed: Turn right here.

  11. There is a similar sign here on the way to St Ives asking people NOT to follow their Sat Navs but to follow the brown signs into the town, but I reckon most people ignore it.
