Many of us – in the UK at least -have seen the video of the hard-working, meticulous mouse who has every night been busily tidying up the workbench in a garden shed. Being Country Mice ourselves, we get field mice here in the house from time to time. Not one of them has ever offered to tidy up. Where have we gone wrong?
We all need a bit of feel-good in January. So here he (she?) is:
You can read all about it here.
I’m going to be an intermittent presence on the blogosphere for the rest of the month, both in the posting and the reading of the posts of others. We’re off to Spain to meet our latest granddaughter.
Leave the with a smile, Margaret! I bet you can’t wait! Have a fantastic time.

I’m sure you can’t wait to get there! Does she have a name yet?

She does. Olivia. The hunt was on for another name that works as well in Spanish/Catalan as in English.

It’s a wonderful classic name too.

So many good news! Congratulations on the new addition to your family and a heartfelt thank you for this magnificent share. I think i could have viewed this little film too but i didn‘t and now I’m glad to have done it on your blog. Have a super-splendid and wonderful time in Spain. Enjoy every moment of this time, so fleeting and always too short.

Will do. And I may tidy up occasionally after my daughter too (which is more than I do for myself).

We plan to have a good time, and hard-working too, probably. But not as effortful as that mouse.

That video was so much fun. I’d forwarded it to others, and already someone has forwarded it back to me. I guess that’s a sign of how popular it is.
Enjoy the intermittent breaks

Did you know that in German people often call little children (around toddler age) “little mouse”? I guess it would translate with pumpkin as a term of endearing. Great tying up of your film and your plans! Enjoy your grandma time!

Thanks Elke. Will do! I shall enjoy seeing my little mice.

I hadn’t seen – or heard – of that; it’s wonderful! More feelgood than a Post Office scandal or concern about the Middle East and Ukraine. A break from the dire does us all good! Enjoy Spain.

Thank you. I’ll get a break from our news there too – though I’ll get Spain’s scandals instead.
