This week, for the Lens-Artists Challenge, Anne has proposed a Scavenger hunt. What fun! Here’s what I’ve come up with, starting with my featured photo exhibiting the soft coats of of those baby ducklings.
Onwards.

Circular. A window at the end of an exhibition space in Lluís Domènech i Montaner House-Museum, Canet de Mar.

Glass. All kinds of glass here. The plate glass of the shop window itself, and the glass and the bottle within. Each of them reflecting the Barcelona street where the shop is situated.

Shoelaces – usefully stringing up some discarded trainers in a residential district near Park Güell in Barcelona.

Waves. We’ll leave Spain for England, but just fish out our cameras as the ferry leaves Rotterdam, causing a variety of waves as it glides throuh the water.

Shadow. Some discovered in the Valley Gardens in Harrogate.

Wheels. Some old charmers noticed this year at Masham Steam Rally.

Rectangular: lots of rectangles here, from bricks to planks to the battered doors themselves – afarm door near Staveley, North Yorkshire.

Jewellery: my British readers will understand that I entirely approve of the sentiments displayed in this pair of earrings.
And that’s me done for today. An extra post for the week – just for fun.
Stunning gallery Margaret

Great selection, Margaret…love those textures within the rectangle image, and little ducklings, shout soft!

Both of those seem to have won the popular vote. And mine. Thanks!

Farm door, Harrogate shadows, the car and not only the shop glass and posters glass but the window glass in the reflection are favourites

Interesting find, that old car, and those earrings are definitely expressive. 😊

I am quite fond of both. Thanks Nes.

Great choices Margaret. The shoelaces one is clever (I wish I’d thought of that as I have a similar shot from Tallinn), I love the old farm door, and of course approve 100% of the earrings 😀

Thanks Sarah. I didn’t thnk I’d upset my particular readership with those earrings. The farm door seems to have gone down well too.

Wow Margaret, this was so worth waiting for! I love all your selections, especially the barn door. It had such great color, maybe from layers of paint. Not being British, I’m not quite sure of the sentiment stated in the earrings.

Thanks Anne. That barn door turns out to be a real favourite. As to the Daily Mail. See Rebecca Cunningham’s comment, just below yours.

Wow, this is posted while we are going through our own political Hitler like crisis. We have FOX news as our Daily Mail.

Sadly, every country has its Fox News.

I looked up Daily Mail controversy. 1933 their admiration of Hitler. Yikes. Then, anti-immigrant, anti-Islamic sentiment, pro-Brexit. I sense it’s like Fox News, but worse, for offending humanity for longer.

Well done. You nailed exactly why so many Brits loathe the Daily Mail (though sadly, it’s still a hugely popular daily paper). I know you wouldn’t buy it if you were in the UK.

Great selection. I confess it took me a while to decipher the bottom half of the earrings but when I got it I approved! Could maybe have a different offender in each ear, though Express or Telegraph might not fit 😀. Your ducklings reminded me of a lovely counting book we used to have in the library: “One duck, another duck”. Eventually the child gets the hang of 1 to 10!

We have just discovered a brilliant counting book about counting to …one. Funny, and not quite as straighforward as it sounds. Oh yes, the Express and Torygraph both need their versions of this jewellery don’t they?

Indeed they do!

And there I was thinking that you were such a nice, polite lady. Rather like Miss Marple…

Me? Miss Marple? Not sure what to do with this discomfiting information. And no right (left?)-thinking person can be polite about the Daily Mail.

Just a fun sighting. That’s why we always need our cameras with us.

Terrifically scavenged, Margaret. That first window looks like an old-fashioned time machine, like H.G. Wells or similar. And the shadows are very disconcerting – but make for an interesting photo. You picked a good spot for the perspective.

I thought the same about the window shot. I guess it’s why I took it. And the shadows were a piece of luck. I just stood there, pointed and shot. Thanks Elke.

Taking another look at the window I only now properly saw the earring. Great sentiment but I would never wear that as jewellery, neither would I wear anything with the word “Bild” in it (that’s the German equivalent).

Oh, quite understandable. I wouldn’t either, but I’m happy to support those who do.

Oh Margaret…you dirty girl!! I’d love a set of those earrings with a different victim but I would probably end up on the next plane to nowhere 🤣. I loved every one of your choices – all very clever and perfect for the prompts you chose. The adorable ducklings and the 2 images that follow it are my favorites (plus the earrings of course!) but truly I loved the entire set.

Oh Tina, you’re so kind! Now, I’m taking a wild guess about your earrings. But I bet I’m right. My lips are sealed though 😉.
