Just because you can barely see them doesn’t mean the benches aren’t there. Morris dancers at Ripon Theatre Festival needed to take the weight off their feet from time to time, and their dresses and general Festival clutter seem to cover from view the benches they used pretty effectively.
For Jude’s Bench Challenge.
Poetry at The Pig sounded good. You went, of course? xx

I didn’t. I was ‘on duty’. But I went to another similar event later.

good choice for benches, Margaret! They are definitely visible, i’m good to see them Occupied,…. Let’s face it for this challenge, most benches For this challenge remain unoccupied!

I know. And what use, pray, is an unoccupied bench?

I’m just back from sitting on a very well positioned bench and admiring the view.

Nice benches and wenches. Have you been to The Pig?

I have . It’s a great place. Books, board games, cosy places to sit and chat. Local ales. I’ll take you there when you come to Ripon.

Thinking about this, you are right. Occupied benches are much better than unoccupied.

From my point of view benches are simply the focal point of a photograph and unoccupied is good. It also means that I can sit down 🤭

Oh. I didn’t know I’d broken the rules – I’ve done it before without censure. Tough! I’ll probably continue, when it suits me!😉

There are no rules. Occupied is fine. I just prefer them to be unoccupied. I’m not comfortable photographing people at the best of times, unless they are far enough away! I love your photo, so colourful. And poetry at the Pig sounds delightful.

Love the colours of their outfits. And I can definitely see the benches.

So can I, even if Jude disapproves! Yes, morris dancers are nothing if not colourful.

The best benches are the ones that get used….and give rest to those who need it. Sometimes the most important person (or thing) in the room is invisible.
