Another Bench with Scarecrows

If the Dominic Cummings bench last week was a bit scary, what about this one? It was part of last year’s Scarecrow Competition in a local village last summer, and represents I guess, our King and his Consort.

Apparently, His Majesty can’t afford any shoes ….

For Jude’s Bench Challenge. (Sorry, Jude, I’m away, so this post is scheduled, and making use of a previous link)

  1. Love it! And will now have to catch up with the Dominic Cummings one. Going north of Barnard Castle in the half term to visit Thomas Bewick house in Tyne valley. Might need to test my eyesight to see all the fine wood engravings!

  2. Great photo. I love the annual Scarecrow Festival. There is a really good one at Kettlewell – when my grandson was very small we took him and his brother to it. One scarecrow was poised in old overalls under a car fixing it. My young grandson thought that he had been run over and started crying. Only an ice cream could stop his tears 🙂

  3. Kettlewell was the first place where we ever saw a Scarecrow Festival. They’re all over the place now. That garage mechanic one sounds excellent.

  4. Quite a good likeness……. Poor Charles can’t get a break! Stolen shoes and gloves, and someone took Camilla’s gloves too so she can’t help out…. Terrible. If someone made a scarecrow of Trump and Melania they’d be deported to El Salvador’s super max. I’m nervous even joking about it, truly….
