It was Masham Sheep Fair at the weekend, so my camera and my phone worked overtime. More another day- maybe.
My feature photo – from my camera – is appropriate: one happy farmer at the end of the day displaying all the cups she’d won. The one below is from my phone, and shows my favourite 400 Roses taking to the floor – well, the town square.

Bravo, ladies! And did anyone else win any cups, Margaret?

Believe it or not, many people did. Including some very small children – some well under 6 – who are already proficient sheep handlers. I have some adorable shots, but I can’t put them on the www without their parents’ permission, which I don’t have.

Everyone is happy at the Sheep Fair. Unless it rains. Which, against the odds, it didn’t.

This always sounds and looks such a great event when you share it with us. I”d love to be in Masham for it one year!

It’s great she was so proficient but what on earth will she do with all the cups??!
And on a more serious note – this is open to discussion – if the children participated in a public event aren’t the photos then allowed? I am asking not telling, mind.

It’s a difficult one. The parents clearly saw me – and others – taking photos. They might have assumed, since I don’t bristle with camera equipment, that I only planned to show the images to family and friends. I don’t feel comfortable putting them on the www. Anyone else going to weigh in here?

It’s a good question. I know I don’t like posting photos of people, especially children, but obviously they do appear in my beach shots.

Impossible to avoid, on the beach. But in that context, probably unrecognisable.

I just checked your link to your post on the 400 roses. Somehow I missed that before. It looks like a lot of rather stylish good fun.

Oh it is. I’m one of many of 400 Roses appreciative fans.

It does what it says on the tin. Showcases the Very Best Sheep from the region and beyond diplaying the Very Best Sheep, and the Very Best Shepherds (or whatever they’re called these days). It’s great fun.
