Doors in Mataró

We’ve travelled almost the length of England, almost the length of France and through half of Catalonia to arrive in Premiá de Mar. It’s here that we’ve met our new granddaughter Olivia, exactly three weeks old today. And we’ve celebrated the birthday of her elder sister Anaïs, three years old on Tuesday.

Unsurprisingly, we haven’t been out and about much yet. But yesterday, Olivia, her mum, Malcolm and I ventured to Mataró, capital of the Maresme, for a little light mooching.

Here are two doors we mooched past.

For Dan’s Thursday Doors.

  1. Doors are endlessly fascinating, some of them at least. Olivia, I am sure, is even more fascinating. Congratulations to all concerned and birthday wishes to her big sister.

  2. That first one has impressive surrounds. I’m sure your granddaughters are infinitely more impressive though. Enjoy that wonderful new baby smell (and I’m not talking about nappies 😉).

      1. How does big sister feel about her? My daughter was three when Alex was born and she adored him (until he was 6 months old and then she would slyly knock him over when he was learning to sit up 😆 just a gentle nudge on passing)

  3. Congratulations with your new granddaughter! It sounds like quite a journey to get there. Very charming doors, I love photos of doors and also like to spot good ones when traveling. I have a nice collection from Zanzibar. 🙂

  4. So special for you to be there. It must be such a joy to snuggle BOTH of them. Doorways to memories if you ask me. Have a good time while you there.

    1. We did not get rest on the journey! London was awful, and we raced down France in record time using motorways the whole way! We’ll trundle home. But we’re enjoying life here. A lot.

    1. Aaagh. I was wondering about your absence from the blogosphere. So sorry. Life must be tricky indeed. But easier than it is for an acquaintance of mine who recently broke both arms when she tripped on the ice. I hope, anyway. May your convalescence be speedy!
