Galloping Years

Blogging challenges, Poetry

Why 46 words? Just to make life difficult I suppose. But here we go …

The Galloping Years

You’d think each year was just a year

Each one lasting twelve whole months.

And yet as I get old and grey, those weeks and months

Revolve, gain speed and pass before me faster than before.

Slow down! Don’t hurry me through my last remaining years.

  1. Brilliantly sums up what seems to be a universal experience if we’re lucky enough to get that far. Next challenge is to write about standing in the kitchen and wondering what you came in for!

    1. Does that only happen to you in the kitchen? It happens to me in every room in the house, and particularly on the staircase πŸ˜‰

  2. Great poem and also spot on – each year does seem shorter and faster than those that went before! I love the photo gallery too – I believe I spotted a couple from the Yorkshire Sculpture Park?
