Orange you glad…?

This month’s Life in Colour invites us to look at orange. Happy to help. I’ll grab your attention in the feature photo, with a rather orange sky.

When I got my new phone, my not-at-all top-of-the range, bargain-basement smartphone, I discovered that it had a feature called ‘spot colour’. I tried it out in the garden, and in the woods, making orange my spot colour of choice. Here are some results:

Now let’s abandon the gimmicks, and simply go for a walk along Ripon Canal on this early autumn day:

And let’s remember past moments in Valencia, and in Le Jardin Extraordinaire for Becky’s Past Squares:

Shall we end with a single perfect rose ….

… or with a bit of fun – the play food I made for William and Zoë’s kitchen?

  1. You’d think orange being a hot colour would be summer, but it’s absolutely autumn for anyone living pretty much above the 51st parallel north as you have so beautifully captured (oranges and pumpkins excepted!).

  2. Super oranges! I do like the spot colour thingy, much easier than trying to do colour popping in an editor. I wonder if my phone has something like that? or my camera? So many menus it’s impossible to learn everything on these things nowadays. Thank you for joining in with the orange month 🧡🧡

  3. The spot colour shots are fun 🙂 You seem to have more colour than we do down here in the south, so far at least. But my favourite shot is the rose – so beautiful!

  4. what IS thatffancy decoration on the large pumpkin? I don’t think I like that feature of ‘hunting for a colour’ on your new smartie; it looks a bit ‘recherché’ and not too natural…. I much prefer your following photos 🙂

    1. It’s not a feature I expect to use that much, but it was fun playing. And the pumpkin comes from Le Jardin Extraordinaire, where playing comes as standard.
