Geometric Barcelona

I haven’t joined in the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge in a while: I wouldn’t like to fall out of the habit completely. What to offer? A miscellany? Maybe. Focus on one country – maybe Spain with its wonderful Moorish past? Maybe, but others have already offered wonderful images on this theme. Barcelona then, my daughter’s home? OK, why not? But this time, maybe not its must-see architecture, from Gothic to Gaudí. Let’s just walk the streets, travel the metro, visit maritime Barcelona, and see what we can see.

  7. Escalators are all about function until your stylish captures and then most definitely they are about form too. I think on these occasions ‘humans’ are acceptable too.

  10. Delightful choices! Barcelona!!! The doorway people and the palm trees in the glass – great favourites. And your header/opener. All of them, but they made me long for Barcelona again…

  11. Love that you stayed away from the images we often see of beautiful Barcelona and went with a local perspective of its everyday people and places Margaret. My favorite part of the city is its waterfront so I loved your header feature and first images especially. It’s a wonderful city – how nice that you have a daughter to visit there! Welcome back to the challenge, glad you decided to join us again!

  14. Excellent photos! I love real life examples of geometry (probably linked to my love of math). Have you been to the Reichstag building in Berlin? You can get some great shots inside of the dome.

  15. Where’s the bit in the tunnel or vault, Margaret? I can’t quite make it out and am sure I’ve never been there. Great selection! I nodded and smiled my way through them. Those days will come again, I’m sure. 🙂 🙂

    1. If you click on the image, the label comes up. It’s actually the Maritime Museum, and it’s an ancient longboat. I liked it hiding in its tunnel. How are you doing? You seem a little brighter. We’ve got a date for our second jabs, so I hope that might be positive ….

  16. A lovely selection of normal life and even a green building! I think you’ll be in Barcelona long before I get to Australia! But hopefully I’ll see my Wiltshire grandson before too long, he’s only 8 months old now!

  20. I enjoyed all these images and the way they draw the eye in. I also liked the palms reflected with the green window panes particularly – and the couple seated at a table at a bar. Its over a year since we have had such an outing (bar or restaurant), and its funny to miss that (among all the many other things). I hope you get to see your new granddaughter in Barcelona soonest.
