Well supplied with mud and water

Yesterday I showed you soggy France, a few winters ago. Today I’ll show you soggy North Yorkshire, yesterday. Despite often being up to my ankles in mud and water, I found my end-of-day walk had its own particular delights.

  1. Oh my, Margaret…We are out today as well, but in snow and 6 minus. I once left my boot in a mud hole – had my husband to get it out of there. Wishing you a lovely weekend!

  2. I lost a shoe in a muddy patch a couple of years back and had to walk the rest of the way home barefoot. (we did get it out, but it wasn’t fit to wear until cleaned).

  3. I could recommend you a good mud song but you’d have like the blues (and then you’d probably know of it). Love the idea of your virtual dog. Does it mean you have to loiter near lamp posts? I’ve just come back from a wintry walk too and my ears are still tingling from the wind. Needs must though, eh?

  4. Goodness, the second photo reminded me of some of the excessively muddy hikes I’ve done through time (never in the UK, though). There were one or two, where I swear, I ended up with mud in my ears and eyes. Are you still out walking every day?

  5. I can give you some consolation as (I think) it’s muddy EVERYWHERE right now….. our tons of snow have melted, our rain drain is lulling us to sleep nightly and I had to change my thinking to ‘It sounds like a fountain in front of our bedroom’ for not yelling at the drip-drip…. and if all my gum boots weren’’t still in France, I’d wear them daily.
But you gift us with this über-beautiful HEART OF LIGHT and that is well worth getting a bit muddy, isn’t it?! Thank you.
